First Live FB Interview
Tsholofelo Modise, Editor of Your Baby & Pregnancy Magazine, interviews Dr Diana on their first live chat on Facebook during Breastfeeding week 1 to 7 August 2016.
Why is Breastfeeding so important?
Breastmilk is much more than just food, it is also part of nurturing and caring for your baby. Your newborn baby receives all nutrients, vitamins and minerals she needs to survive from breastmilk. She also receive antibodies; the proteins that protects her from getting ill; free from breastmilk.
Young, inexperienced mothers give up breastfeeding way too early because of lack of help and support.
How long should I breastfeed?
This is debatable, but mom must try to breastfeed exclusively for at least the first 6 months; no water, juice or tea; nothing but mothers milk . If you can persevere longer, up to a year, you are really giving your baby the best … Babies die from malnutrition, not hunger …
